The West Kowloon Cultural District, nestled along the iconic Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong, is a vibrant and ambitious cultural hub that allows you to do a range of activities.
The best way to get to the West Kowloon Cultural District is by MTR and then either walking or taking the shuttle bus. There are two options to choose from depending on which MTR station is more convenient for you:
- Austin Station (free shuttle bus to WKCD available) – This is on the Ma On Shan line and might be more suitable for those travelling from the New Territories.
- Kowloon Station – This connects to Hong Kong MTR station, so might be more suitable for those travelling from HK Island.
1 Austin Station to West Kowloon Cultural District
Taking the shuttle bus to West Kowloon Cultural District is definitely the easier way to get there since you get an air-conditioned ride the whole way.
Total time: 25 minutes
Head to Hong Kong West Kowloon Station
Once you get off at Austin Station, make your way to Exit C which connects you to Hong Kong West Kowloon Station. Follow the arrow in the photo below to the right side of the exit. This will take you to the Arrival Concourse.
Go to Exit J1
From here, make your way to Exit J1 of the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station.
Walk towards the bus stop
Once you come out of Exit J1, turn right and walk towards the blue board. The shuttle bus will pick you up from here.
Take note of the frequency
The shuttle bus frequency is once every 20 minutes, and it operates from 9 am to 8:30 pm daily.
Get off at M+
The bus will drop you off at the M+ Car Park.
Take escalator upstairs
Simply take the escalator to go to the ground level.
Walk towards the promenade
Once you get off the escalator, make a U-turn to head towards the West Kowloon Cultural Promenade.
2 Kowloon Station to West Kowloon Cultural District
Once you get off at Kowloon Station, make your way to Exit C which connects you to Elements shopping mall. Head up the escalators.
Go towards the right side. Follow the sign to “ICC/Sky100/Hotels/Xiqu Centre”.
At the concierge desk, make a right turn.
Continue straight.
Keep to the left side after passing these sculptures.
Go up the escalators.
Continue keeping straight by following the sign to “ICC/Sky100/The Ritz-Carlton/West Kowloon Cultural District”
Keept left at the escalators.
Exit Elements via these doors.
Cross the bridge and go down the escalators at the end of the bridge. This path will take you to M+, which is right next to the promenade.
